Antitrust to order Rosneft to sell more than 10 fuel filling stations

MOSCOW, Jun 27 (PRIME) -- The Federal Antimonopoly Service will order oil major Rosneft to sell more than 10 fuel filling stations in three or four regions of Russia after the purchase of a controlling stake in oil company Bashneft, Dmitry Makhonin, head of the service’s department for regulation of the energy industry, told PRIME on Tuesday.

“The analysis of the market will be ready in July, we will most likely see the results some time in the middle of August. Rosneft and Bashneft overlap in only three or four regions. (The order will demand the sale of) slightly more than 10 fuel filling stations,” he said.

Rosneft bought 50.0755% in Bashneft from the government for 329.7 billion rubles in October 2016. In late November 2016, the service approved a request from Rosneft to buy the stake, but issued some rulings for that, including a demand to sell some fuel filling stations in regions where the combined stake of Rosneft and Bashneft at retail fuel markets exceeds 50%.
